Schedule

Pre-Cleanse: Prepare

You will receive the information and guidance you need to partake in a whole-food, plant-based seasonal cleanse from the comfort of your own home. There is no fasting or expensive treatments, supplements, or shakes. You will be eating three nourishing meals a day.

Although there are set dates for the cleanse, it’s designed for you to adjust the dates to work best for you. Here’s what the schedule looks like:

PURIFY 

Pradhana Karma

This stage encompasses therapies leading up to the main procedure and a specific diet regimen, strategically designed to bring the vitiated dosha to the gut. Alongside the kindling of the digestive fire and eliminating ama, this stage involves the elimination of gluten, dairy, alcohol, meat, caffeine, and processed foods and sugars. This progressive approach serves to gently transition into the detoxification process, effectively minimizing common cleansing symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, and general aches and pains.

Main Cleanse

Based on individual conditions, dosha vitiation, and nearest route to expel. This stage will require you to stay home from work, avoid social engagements, and restrict travel for 2-3 days.

REINTEGRATE

Paschat Karma

After every process of pradhana karma one must follow a special step wise dietary regimen called samsarjankarma to re-establish digestion and strengthen the body.

REJUVENATE 

Rasayana

A custom herbal formula will be taken to restore the normalcy of the body’s tissues and systems as well as help promote rejuvenation and prevent future imbalances. 

Two weeks prior to the start of the cleanse you’ll get access to a learning platform where you will access all the materials you need to have a successful cleanse.

These procedures are advantageous for fortifying the digestive fire, lubricating the channels, and liquefying unmetabolized toxic waste accumulated in various channels of the body. Simultaneously, these steps facilitate the ease of elimination from the body through the nearest route. The choice of medicines and the duration of these preparatory procedures varies for each individual.

Deepana: kindling digestion and metabolism
Pachana: digesting or burning off ama (poorly metabolized substances)
Snehana: oleation therapy or lubrication in the form of internal administration and external application of unctuous substances such as oil and ghee
Swedana: sudation or fomentation to create sweating

PREPARE

If you would like to ease into the Advanced Cleanse & Restore (and you live in Madison), the Cleanse & Restore meal plan will be perfect for you. Holistic nutritionist and personal chef, Lauren Montelbano of the Vibrant Veg, will cook your first four days lunch and dinners for you which includes 8 meals.

A week before the Advanced Cleanse & Restore you will want to begin to minimize or eliminate hard to digest foods—including caffeine, alcohol, sugar, raw foods, and flesh foods— and upgrade to more health-giving whole foods. You will have the opportunity to receive Āyurvedic bodywork therapies in your community or perform them at home.

During the Pradhana Karma Purify phase, reducing sensory stimulus and slowing down so you can proceed with a lot of intentionality is recommended. This phase will require rest and will require taking at minimum 2-3 days off work.

Finally, during phase three you’ll follow a step-by-step protocol for introducing foods back into your diet (this is also an ideal time to have off work if possible). You’ll have worked hard to reduce and eliminate certain foods, which you may decide not to reintroduce.

Given the Advanced Cleanse & Restore program is tailored to one’s individual needs and includes two individual consultations, space is extremely limited to ensure personalized support. Anyone in any time zone anywhere can participate. Priority will be given to those who have previously had consultations with Andrea or have gone through the Cleanse & Restore program.

You will have access to the materials for seventy-five days however all handouts and manuals are downloadable. When you sign up be sure to subscribe to emails so that you receive the Advanced Cleanse & Restore materials. Given the digital nature of this course, refunds are not available once you have accessed the course portal.

Please Note

Be prepared to follow instructions and complete the full program for safety and effectiveness. It is best to abstain from sex and travel for the main 21 days of the program.

There are times in which is best not to partake in a cleanse such as during pregnancy, nursing, heavy menstruation, acute sickness, or illness (flu, cancer, etc.). If you have questions about whether this cleanse is appropriate for you, consult with your primary care provider, and email me.

Prior to the cleanse start date, I recommend ordering split yellow mung beans and white rice for kitchari from your natural foods store, Indian grocery, or Amazon.

I’ve done several cleanses and resets with Andrea, and with each I’ve taken away a lasting benefit. The two most significant changes were eliminating coffee (so hard on my stomach) and adding a consistent morning meditation practice to my daily routine - changes that have enhanced my physical and mental well-being. I’ve truly found the cleanses to be a path to better health.
